This is your time to help.

More than 130 of Hollywood's biggest stars rally today Friday (January 22) for "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief" telethon, airing across numerous networks.

Organizer George Clooney told MTV News on Thursday that the ultimate goal of the telethon is to raise money. "That's it ... just first and foremost that we can raise a lot of money," he said. "If I thought that we could all pick up shovels and go in there and not be in the way, I think a lot of people would do that."

There are many ways viewers can contribute to the telethon. Donations can be made online at HopeForHaitiNow.org, over the phone by calling (877) 99-HAITI, by texting the word "GIVE" to 50555 or by mail addressed to Hope for Haiti Now Fund, Entertainment Industry Foundation, 1201 West 5th St., Suite T-700, Los Angeles, CA, 90017.

Among the artists slated to perform for the event: Wyclef Jean, Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira and Sting in New York City; Alicia Keys, Christina Aguilera, Dave Matthews, John Legend, Justin Timberlake, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift and a group performance by Keith Urban, Kid Rock and Sheryl Crow in Los Angeles; and Coldplay plus a group performance by Bono, The Edge, Jay-Z.

100% of funds raised will go towards relief efforts in Haiti and there are NO backend costs. Additionally, the Entertainment Industry Foundation has waived all administrative fees.

A massive, 7.0 magnitude earthquake struck Haiti near the capital of Port-au-Prince on Tuesday, January 12th. The damage to buildings is extensive and the number of injured or dead is estimated to be over 100,000.

Your gift will help rush emergency supplies to survivors of this catastrophe. Your gift now will help distribute life-saving relief supplies including food, clean water, blankets, medical supplies and tents to children and families devastated by the earthquake and aftershocks in Haiti.

I guess you don't need it
I guess you don't want me to repeat it
But everything I have to give I'll give to you
It's not like we planned it
You tried to stay, but you could not stand it
To see me shut down slow
As though it was an easy thing to do

Listen when
All of this around us'll fall over
I tell you what we're gonna do
You will shelter me my love
And I will shelter you
I will shelter you

I left you heartbroken, but not until those very words were spoken
Has anybody ever made such a fool out of you
It's hard to believe it
Even as my eyes do see it
The very things that make you live are killing you
Listen when all of this around us'll fall over
I tell you what we're gonna do

You will shelter me my love
I will shelter you
Listen when
All of this around us'll fall over
I tell you what we're gonnado

You will shelter me my love
I will shelter you
If you shelter me too
I will shelter you
I will shelter you

First look at "Life Unexpected" my review

The network's description:

"After spending all of her 15 years bouncing from one foster family to another in Portland, Oregon, Lux (Britt Robertson, "Swingtown") has decided it's time to take control of her life and become an emancipated minor. Her journey through the legal maze leads Lux to her biological father, 30-something Nate "Baze" Bazile (Kristoffer Polaha, "Mad Men"), who owns a bar, lives like an aging frat-boy with two slacker roommates, and is astonished to learn that he has a teenage daughter. Lux is equally astonished when Baze reveals that her mother is Cate Cassidy (Shiri Appleby, "E.R."), a star on the local "Morning Madness" radio show, along with her on-air partner and real-life boyfriend, Ryan Thomas (Kerr Smith, "Eli Stone"). Lux has been listening to Cate's voice on the radio as long as she can remember, so she feels an instant connection with the mom she's never met. Baze takes Lux to meet Cate, who is shocked and saddened to learn that Lux has grown up in foster care, but thrilled to finally meet her beautiful daughter. When a judge decides that Lux isn't ready for emancipation and unexpectedly grants temporary joint custody to Baze and Cate, they agree to try to get past the awkwardness and make a belated attempt to give Lux the family she deserves.

What I really like was the old school WB in the best possible way, "Life" may be both the sappiest and the smartest show to come out. It all begins with the collective awesomeness that is Britt Robertson, Kristoffer Polaha, Shiri Appleby and Kerr Smith. Effortlessly charming, stunningly empathetic and an all around a joy to watch, our central quartet make what could be written off as a silly premise - two opposites must now raise the precocious product of their one night stand from high school! - into a surprisingly poignant tale about love and forgiveness.

Britt Robertson will break your heart at least once in the pilot as her wise-beyond-her years, "Juno"-esque Lux simply asks the world why no one loves her. Credit writer Liz Tigelaar and director Gary Fleder for answering that question with two very real responses. In Baze's case, he didn't know about her but now that she's here, she's somehow unlocked an - for the lack of a better word - unexpectedly paternal part of himself. For Cate, it's the full grown reminder of a decade and a half of shame and mistrust as a result of her decision to give Lux up for adoption, one that becomes all the more soul crushing after learning she never got adopted.

Now in order to take care of Lux she'll have to do the previously unthinkable - fix herself. In other words, both Baze and Cate definitely need some growing up - and Lux is the kick they need to do it. It's a wonderfully adult take on your typical quarterlife crisis as I genuinely want to know what made these people who they are and see what they become.

The steamy sex scene between Nate and Cate was definitely something I was not expecting to see and it was most definitely hot! And to have the Spin Doctors playing throughout it? Awesome! I love that song!

I am starting to feel old these days, especially because we relate more to the parental figures then the teenager in this show, but Nate knows how to make me feel young again. I think Lux is more mature than him.

There were plenty of tear jerker moments throughout this episode and I, for one, think that is a big feat for The CW. Most shows these days don't put that much of an emotional investment into their characters. It's so nice to watch something on television that isn't a crime scene show or a reality TV show. I have very high hopes for Life Unexpected!

What I didn't really like was the show admittedly can get a little too saccharine at times. For instance, Lux wasn't adopted because of congenital heart defect - she literally had a hole in her heart; while Lux also reveals that she's been a lifelong "Morning Madness" fan, meaning her mother had in effect been a part of her life all along. These types of blatant tugs on the heartstrings, while forgivable, still feel kind of unnecessary. All in all though...

Until next Monday, I will leave you with a few of my favorite Life Unexpected quotes:

Lux: You both can't be parents, you both need parents! |

Baze: My dad said to do what I love and I love to drink for free. |

Lux: You'd think with your last name being Foster, you'd actually be equipped to be a foster parent. |

The bottom line: ...it's the start of a beautifully charming series.

Conan's Last 'Tonight Show' Jan. 22nd. NO!!!

The run of Conan O'Brien as host of "The Tonight Show" will be ending sooner than anyone could have predicted. According to reports O'Brien's last show will be on January 22nd.

With Coco Pictures, Images and Photos

O'Brien drew a line in the sand with NBC on Tuesday, telling the network he would not host "The Tonight Show" at 12:05 a.m. Eastern time. Saying this...

People of Earth:

In the last few days, I’ve been getting a lot of sympathy calls, and I want to start by making it clear that no one should waste a second feeling sorry for me. For 17 years, I’ve been getting paid to do what I love most and, in a world with real problems, I’ve been absurdly lucky. That said, I’ve been suddenly put in a very public predicament and my bosses are demanding an immediate decision.

Six years ago, I signed a contract with NBC to take over The Tonight Show in June of 2009. Like a lot of us, I grew up watching Johnny Carson every night and the chance to one day sit in that chair has meant everything to me. I worked long and hard to get that opportunity, passed up far more lucrative offers, and since 2004 I have spent literally hundreds of hours thinking of ways to extend the franchise long into the future. It was my mistaken belief that, like my predecessor, I would have the benefit of some time and, just as important, some degree of ratings support from the prime-time schedule. Building a lasting audience at 11:30 is impossible without both.

But sadly, we were never given that chance. After only seven months, with my Tonight Show in its infancy, NBC has decided to react to their terrible difficulties in prime-time by making a change in their long-established late night schedule.

Last Thursday, NBC executives told me they intended to move the Tonight Show to 12:05 to accommodate the Jay Leno Show at 11:35. For 60 years the Tonight Show has aired immediately following the late local news. I sincerely believe that delaying the Tonight Show into the next day to accommodate another comedy program will seriously damage what I consider to be the greatest franchise in the history of broadcasting. The Tonight Show at 12:05 simply isn’t the Tonight Show. Also, if I accept this move I will be knocking the Late Night show, which I inherited from David Letterman and passed on to Jimmy Fallon, out of its long-held time slot. That would hurt the other NBC franchise that I love, and it would be unfair to Jimmy.

So it has come to this: I cannot express in words how much I enjoy hosting this program and what an enormous personal disappointment it is for me to consider losing it. My staff and I have worked unbelievably hard and we are very proud of our contribution to the legacy of The Tonight Show. But I cannot participate in what I honestly believe is its destruction. Some people will make the argument that with DVRs and the Internet a time slot doesn’t matter. But with the Tonight Show, I believe nothing could matter more.

There has been speculation about my going to another network but, to set the record straight, I currently have no other offer and honestly have no idea what happens next. My hope is that NBC and I can resolve this quickly so that my staff, crew, and I can do a show we can be proud of, for a company that values our work.

Have a great day and, for the record, I am truly sorry about my hair; it’s always been that way.

Yours,

Conan

In a statement O'Brien wrote he refused to "participate in its destruction."

But Conan's fans are not letting him go that easy there are talks of boycotts. More than 100 members of the Facebook generation in Chicago have spoken, and they want Conan O'Brien as their late-night host.

As NBC executives continued to hammer out a settlement with the embattled "Tonight Show" star on Monday, sign-carrying O'Brien fans gathered at Pioneer Court, outside WMAQ-TV's downtown studios, to show their support for the flame-haired comedian and their anger at NBC.

"I just want to support Conan. I think it (stinks) that Jay (Leno) wants to screw all of this up," said longtime fan Erich Beasley, who dyed his hair red in support of O'Brien. Beasley, 25, said he stayed up late to watch O'Brien's old "Late Night" show, which aired at 3 a.m. in his native Houston.

"I just want to help show that Conan is going to have a following no matter where he goes and maybe NBC doesn't value Conan as much as they should," he said.

The rally of mostly teens and young adults — some wearing orange and sporting red wigs or spray-painted hair — was organized through the Facebook social networking site as part of the larger "I'm With Coco" national movement. Many of those present consider themselves die-hard fans and wanted to voice their displeasure with NBC's treatment of the star.

"This is unfair," said Sean Casselton, 20, who carried a cutout sign with which the holder could sport an O'Brien-like hairdo. "He's been working his whole career to have the 'Tonight Show.' It's not really fair he could only get it for seven months. He earned it."

Since NBC announced it wished to put Leno, the former "Tonight Show" host, back into his 10:35 p.m. slot, late-night fans have been divided between O'Brien and Leno, whom many rally participants blame.

Although the rally was high-spirited yet tame, the Facebook battleground has become more heated, with fans of both men bashing one another.

The young fans, including some small children, said they connected more with O'Brien's zany show than with Leno's more laid-back version.

"It just shows that (O'Brien) has a broader audience, a wider audience compared to Jay Leno," said Anjelica Hager, 19, who came to the rally with her friend Samantha Tenuta.

Who do they think watches Leno's show?

"Older married couples, celebrating their golden anniversaries," Tenuta said.

Honestly. I have to admit, I loved it so much. He connected with both his audience and his guests, I practically died laughing ever night. Not to mention, I was very attracted to his tall slender and unique physique. After a couple of days of watching his show, I had several of my friends from the black community watching his show as well; involuntarily convincing them to watch O'Brien rather than Jay. Conan is the BESTEST!

p.s. where ever he goes, it doesn't matter, he will be a SUCCESS! BTW if you din't know I'M WITH COCO!

We did it !!! Happy to be a Republican!

Republican Scott Brown Wins Kennedy Senate Seat

In a staggering blow to President Barack Obama and Democrats nationally, Scott Brown, a little known Republican Massachusetts state senator, won a special election to replace the Democratic icon late Sen. Edward Kennedy. The race was called shortly before 9:30 pm ET by NPR and other media outlets.

The stunning result in a blue state cast doubts on Obama's ability to get his agenda enacted, especially health care reform, and seemed a repudiation, especially by independent voters, of much of what the president has done so far.

While the political world has turned upside down, especially for Democrats, the outcome wasn't unexpected. In recent weeks, it became clear that Brown was surging past Coakley.

Really looking forward to this movie...

I don't know why but this movie and the trailers song has caught my attention and I can't get either out of my mind so this will be a double post

By directed by Lasse Halström and based on the novel by best-selling author Nicholas Sparks, DEAR JOHN tells the story of John Tyree (Channing Tatum), a young soldier home on leave, and Savannah Curtis (Amanda Seyfried), the idealistic college student he falls in love with during her spring vacation. Over the next seven tumultuous years, the couple is separated by Johns increasingly dangerous deployments. While meeting only sporadically, they stay in touch by sending a continuous stream of love letters overseas--correspondence that eventually triggers fateful consequences.

"Set The Fire To The Third Bar"
(feat. Martha Wainwright)

I find the map and draw a straight line
Over rivers, farms, and state lines
The distance from 'A' to where you'd be
It's only finger-lengths that I see
I touch the place where I'd find your face
My finger in creases of distant dark places

I hang my coat up in the first bar
There is no peace that I've found so far
The laughter penetrates my silence
As drunken men find flaws in science

Their words mostly noises
Ghosts with just voices
Your words in my memory
Are like music to me

I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
I, I pray that something picks me up
And sets me down in your warm arms

After I have travelled so far
We'd set the fire to the third bar
We'd share each other like an island
Until exhausted, close our eyelids
And dreaming, pick up from
The last place we left off
Your soft skin is weeping
A joy you can't keep in

I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
And I, I pray that something picks me up
and sets me down in your warm arms

I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
and I, I pray that something picks me up
and sets me down in your warm arms

Favorite Song at this Moment

Regina Spektor - Us

They made a statue of us
And it put it on a mountain top
Now tourists come and stare at us
Blow bubbles with their gum
Take photographs for fun, for fun

They'll name a city after us
And later say it's all our fault
Then they'll give us a talking to
Then they'll give us a talking to
Because they've got years of experience
We're living in a den of thieves
Rummaging for answers in the pages
We're living in a den of thieves
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious

We wear our scarves just like a noose
But not 'cause we want eternal sleep
And though our parts are slightly used
New ones are slave labor you can keep

We're living in a den of thieves
Rummaging for answers in the pages
We're living in a den of thieves
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious

They made a statue of us
They made a statue of us
The tourists come and stare at us
The sculptor's mama sends regards
They made a statue of us
They made a statue of us
Our noses have begun to rust
We're living in a den of thieves
Rummaging for answers in the pages
Were living in a den of thieves

And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious
And it's contagious

New Year! Big Disasters!

Siting here watching the news just wondering how we remand sane at all if anyone can call them self sane. Death everywhere and life everywhere but that's the circle right whose to question it?

But at the same time you can't help but think is there a plan to any of this or are we just all bumping into each other at 500 mph and living with the aftermath. My 18 years of living have been quite something but then when I look at ohers and there lives I think I have it easy, then other days I think no one in the world see or feels life like I do.

Conceded I know but the truth none the less. I can't help but think things happen for a reason, I am a romantic at heart I cry every time I see Romeo & Juliet, Titanic, Moulin Rouge!, or any love-enthused/heartbreaking story. But then again I've had my heart broken and its been nothing like those wonderfully romantic tragedies.

Yes I've been swept away but not with true love and not with pure love but you couldn't have told me that then hindsight is "always" 20/20, but then again I really don't think if I had it to do again I would change a thing because then whose to say where I'd be today, happier, sadder, or maybe even dead. That brings us to disaster is life the ultimate disaster or is it how we live it? Is where we are born the defining line in how are life's end up? Or is it only or choices and when why and how we make them?

I don't know the answers and I don't think i will ever know, all i know is that I will try and make my life all it can be for those who are no longer here and mostly for myself, and never regret "not" doing something because in the end if and when we are judged it will be for what we did not for what we wished we did.
